Broome County Executive Announces $25,000 to Fund Youth Drug Education and Prevention
BINGHAMTON, NY –On February 23, 2017, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and Director of Parks and Recreation Matt Gawors announced the availability of $190,000 from New York State to fund youth programs in Broome County.
Today, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced the extension of the application deadline for Youth Drug Prevention and Education Programs to Friday, March 31, 2017. Garnar also stated that up to $25,000 will be made available for youth drug prevention and education programs.
“We received many great applications for these funds,” said Garnar. “Today I am extending the deadline and making up to $25,000 available for programming to address the opioid epidemic. We are specifically looking for programs that provide education for youth in Broome County related to substance abuse.”
