The Hungry Ear, the library program celebrating the art of the short story, presents two exciting stories at the April program. “Chairman Spaceman” reflects the current interest in sending people to outer space; Elon Musk is busy at it. The story is written by Thomas Pierce. A man has signed up to be part of a colony to settle an unnamed planet. He must be put into a temporary frozen state to do so. The reader is Jim Hull.“Signal,” by John Lanchester, concerns a man and his family who are invited to his wealthy friend's English mansion where its luxurious surroundings mask a mystery.
